racing sounds (checkpoint beeps and countdown beeps)


Surely no one will care that it's some more sounds, but it was a thing for me overall. 

There are some beeps on the countdown, some beeps for each checkpoint, and a tone for race finished as well as a slight pitch change in the checkpoint for each lap. 

There is also a separate racing sounds volume. 

I figured out that my clang sounds weren't properly tied to the ship volume meaning they never changed volume so that's fixed now too. 

I also put a larger "Race Finished" text display that goes away after a short while. There is still the smaller race finished that stays there until a new race is started or racemode is deactivated, but the big one more in the middle pops up for a few seconds. 

In some ways the sounds do make the game feel a lot more like a game. Sometimes, though, I'm not particularly happy with the sounds, although I'm not exactly producing them, I'm just finding them on free pages. I don't know how much total work I will really put into the sounds, as I can only imagine it's a mastery thing, that is not actually very easy to polish up. It will be like the graphics,, where there is a great deal of inconsistency in the quality, but perhaps once you settle in to seeing all the diversity of qualities, and hearing the diversity of qualities,, (like I am by now) then it's a nice gameplay experience, although at first I am sure the player will wish for more consistency.
