A downloadable game for Windows

NOTICE!!!! ALthough the version number listed on the download is NOT the same as the version number of the steam build,, they are the same build!! I just don't want to reupload the entire project each time I change the version number so for now I will just leave it on the old version number here. current as of dec 2023

This is not a racing game. Racing is a competition where competitors attempt to achieve a goal or set of goals before the other competitors. This game is meant for people to learn and practice and repeat the control of a number of vehicle styles generally imagined as "space vehicles".  It uses REWIRED and should support any and all controllers/joysticks, etc. however the player will need to set them up in game.

It is possible to use this game to improve times and train for racing, although the primary focus of the game is to create opportunities for new moves, and gain the ability to execute these new moves. Therefore the primary objective of this game is to have the ability to create, share, and play others obstacles and courses, so that the player can gain exposure to as many varieties of motion as possible.

My hopes with this game lie firmly in the objective of creating a large database of player created courses and obstacle sets. In my opinion it should be possible for a player to have access to "infinite levels" and "infinite possible complexity" in maneuvering challenge, and also in my opinion the only way to achieve this is by accessing as many players as possible to create as many courses as possible.

The gameplay of this game will see the player place objects in an arena, to include racing checkpoints, dockports, and dockable weights which can be towed around, and then use these created arenas to practice their skills with flying around using thrust physics, docking with thrust physics, and towing weights with a vehicle that is docked to the weight, but does not have balanced thrust around the weight. The player is also able to export their saves and import other players saves. I hope to one day have an appropriate database or forum for this sharing to be made possible.

Install instructions

To play the game, unzip the folder and run (double click) the application from inside of the folder with all of the files. If you would like a desktop icon, create a shortcut to the application and place it on your desktop. When you first run the game, be sure to "import levels pack" and import the starter levels pack that is listed. These levels can be loaded from whichever scene they were created in. Not all scenes have starter levels, so look around for those that do.  Check the "controls description" in the instructions menu page for descriptions of the various features of the game.

Nice, reminds me a bit of Lunar Flight

part of my inspiration was how lunar flight didn't have the camera options I wanted. Of course I started to just make the space drone but later decided to add the lunar style vehicle and was very happy I did. I loved lunar flight but always wanted some more hull-mounted cams. (and of course, to be able to create more environment to fly around,, more obstacles and such)

tricky controls but fun to toy around ❤️

thank you! Well, there are so many games that do something similar except they try to make the controls easier instead of keeping the physics, I searched high and low for years before finally deciding there was no other way to have the game I wanted without making it myself. If you use good joysticks for the inputs, it's a whole lot easier, as they let you have smaller inputs more easily. Similar to quadcopter simulators, this is built for those who have high resolution controls.  , then again, the best lunar lander pilot I've ever seen a video of was all keyboard so I defaulted to that in the game.

It was fun even on keyboard but yeah I realized pretty quick I'd need a joystick to do precise maneuvers 😅 still I can confidently say it's a competently made game, keep up the good work !
