training levels


I started working on some training levels. 

There is one "training scene" for each vehicle in a separate "training menu". 

Presently training levels are merely very simple courses. There are no text directions or walkthrough style instructions. I have considered trying to make a separate set of scripts that would run based on the name of the training level which is loaded, however I really want things like the controls to be something the player works out for themselves, as such complex control schemes are both a massive debate, a player-individual preference phenomenon, and also, to be perfectly honest the game is best played on a controller that doesn't exist on the market (IMO, of course,, others may disagree) ,, therefore any "walkthrough" should  be oriented around this non-existent product. Still,, I may make some text that at least prompts the player on the objective. 

The training levels themselves MUST BE IMPORTED , which is another one of those things,, but it ships with the same zip, and all you do is from the main menu "import levels pack" and import the "training levels pack" . Ultimately I don't know how many training levels there will be, at first I was aiming for 5 for each vehicle however,, I made 5 for some vehicles while other entire vehicle types aren't really for "step one beginners" so I am on the fence about how to go about those training levels, as the vehicle type is already inherently more advanced than a "training level". The basic concepts from the other vehicles still apply, therefore I may make some that sort of exercise the advanced concepts a little bit, but this is actually the objective of normal courses so I don't really know how to go about it. I don't want to make useless content, so I think it will be hard to decide exactly what sort of content should go in for the loader and forward only vehicle, and spacevehicle small. THe rockhopper and normal space vehicle training levels were easy enough, since the idea is "foot in the door" , however for the loader and forward only vehicle, these are really just advanced versions of the space vehicle, so training levels should really just start on the normal space vehicle anyway, which already docks, etc. ,,, What's the point then??
